Dear Parents and Family Members,
As the new school year begins, your child’s classroom will be implementing the Unique Learning System (Unique). Unique is a curriculum program that has been specifically designed for students with special learning needs. Reading, writing and math activities are developed within social studies and science units, but the topics are modified to make sure that the life skills focus remains in the forefront.
Each month your child’s classroom will begin a new unit with materials that have been downloaded from the Unique Learning System website. These materials are provided in three levels to make sure that every student in the classroom will be able to participate at the level that he or she needs. Each unit includes books for reading, math for daily living, recipes for cooking, projects to accomplish, and much, much more.
